Here's an illusion for you. The older guy has started kindergarten a week ago, and he came home with this self-portrait yesterday. So...does he like school? Or not? I asked him about it, a little stab of regret passing through me. I said, is this person happy or sad? Of course knowing the answer was sad. Not just sad, but BIG sad. Misery sad. Don't worry, only 13-17 more years and you're done.
But then he said, without missing a beat - happy! He's smiling! And I looked again.
Sure enough, there's the little guy, happy as a clam.
And with a freakin firestorm of flesh tone to boot! So now I have to wonder, who's the unhappy one? What did YOU see? Happy, or sad?
